The Grand Tetons. Craggy peaks above a flat(ish) foreground. At the top there was snow and ice, and probably glaciers (maybe little ones). I wondered what it looks like from the top of one of those peaks, what happens on the other side of them, who lives up there. What I really loved were the bicycle signs. It was so flat in front of those peaks it seemed like a fun ride and a great view. The goal: Biking [in front of] the Tetons.

'Fly in the City

This dragonfly was perched just outside the Chelsea brownstone where we lived for a week in New York. It stayed still until we tried to get too close. Its eyes were mesmerizing; see-through green domes like helicopters windows. And to think that this animal lives its life as a dragonfly for only one month, after as many as five years as a godzilla-like underwater nymph.

Lottia incessa

This limpet travels the stipe of feathered boa kelp, chewing its host without making holes.
