Laying it out on the table

I confess, I'm a nature nerd. I can't wait to look closer at an insect or spider, and I feel bad about pulling the weeds that grow from the cracks in the sidewalk (I found worms and soil once, and a darkling beetle). Gardening, with its burgeoning successes and teachable failures, is a fascinating way to spend time and I try to do it more. Sometimes I admire National Park gardens like Yellowstone, the nurse rocks and douglas fir, the ground squirrels in between grasses and arrowleaf balsamroot (pretty flower). And I try to take some good time by sleeping there and waking up for a couple mornings, living through a full day. I take pictures, and I include them here, of all my wild adventures. Sometimes I fancy I'm more of a wordsmith than I am (or at least I change my mind) so I'm going to try not to remove what I've written, even though these words only appear because of an edit. So this confession is ephemeral. I am comfortable living in the moment- but that is all I can promise.
